Quebec Casinos: Old and New

The first casino in Quebec was opened in 1993 on Montreal's famous Boulevard Saint-Laurent. The facade of the building features a large wall mural of an 18th-century naval battle, and the theme is continued inside. The highlight of this casino is its multilevel gaming pit with more than 4000 video and reel terminals and over 100table games. Video poker machines and Blackjack are the biggest attractions at Casino de Montréal, both accounting for about half of the floor space in the casino's gaming pit.

Casino de Montréal is owned and operated by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (GCG), which has been making over $300 million annually from this location alone.

In 2015, a new casino opened on Montreal's South Shore. The Casino de Mont-Tremblant offers the excitement of over 1,500 slot machines (including plenty of penny slots) and more than 100 table games including Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, Craps and Baccarat. The casino is open nonstop24 hours a day, every single day, all year round.

Visitors to Casino de Mont-Tremblant can also enjoy the convenience of complimentary valet parking and an exclusive VIP private entrance. The casino offers free shuttle services to guests who are taking advantage of our overnight accommodations. There's no need to worry about transportation once you've arrived; the most convenient way to get around the casino is by the wristband. Upon arrival, you can purchase a band (€ 10), which provides free access to all areas of the hotel and casino.

Casino de Mont-Tremblant offers over 5000 slot machines for gambling enthusiasts of all kinds. The gaming floor features high stakes tables for experienced players and provides a popular choice of slot machines. The casino is open 24 hours a day, 364 days a year.

Resort Casino

In March 2007 Quebec's first resort destination Casino opened its doors in the heart of downtown Montreal on Place d'Armes, across from Notre-Dame Basilica and overlooking Place Jacques Cartier Square. This is the largest casino in North America and is most striking with it's atrium, glass ceiling and marble-clad walls. The gaming area has a classic European look and feel with:

There is also a 10 table Poker Room that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Since its opening, Casino de Montréalhas has given over $200 million in prizes to its visitors.

Casino de Montral offers high-quality table games, including blackjack, punto banco, roulette and poker tables.

The common way of gambling (mechanical games - not at tables) is illegal in Quebec. The only legal option for gamblers is to play in casinos, which are 100% monitored by cameras and security personnel working around the clock, seven days a week.

Although many establishments are offshore and operate out of Canada, players can still be liable for taxes and other fiscal obligations if they receive a payout.

As an example: one Canadian player won $1 million at casino in Australia. The Australian government imposed a tax on the amount he won and he had to pay $400,000 in tax because it was considered "income earned abroad".

Loto-Quebec, a provincial government owned corporation, is responsible for the administration of all lotteries and casino games in Quebec. Every year, Loto-Qubec receives a percentage of its income from each gambling outlet to offset the cost of regulation and ensure that players receive proper payouts.

In addition to overseeing all aspects of gaming and lotteries, Loto-Quebec is also responsible for the management and operation of:

Slot Machines: There are currently about 30,000 slot machines located in more than 60 casinos throughout Quebec. Revenue from these machines accounts for almost $2 billion annually, with $1.5 billion going to fund social programs such as health care, education and culture.

Video Games and Online Casinos: A Great Match

There are many online casinos in Canada . Their top-notch techniques and gaming software attract new players to online gambling establishments every day.

With such a variety of sites offering their games online, it makes sense for Canadian players to take a closer look at their choices. This is where very young players can start looking for those video games they like. There are many more video games on the online casino site than in regular casinos, so it's easy to see why players should consider this strategy.

Promotions are an additional element that players pay attention to when checking out online casinos in Canada. Canadian players don't want to sign up for a gambling establishment that doesn't give them something special when they sign up. Some casinos may also provide their players with no deposit rewards, which means players can profit from free play by earning rewards.

For Canadian players, their online betting sites are readily available on their site. This is a great way to check which sites are the best on the net before you sign up with them. This is where most players want to join because they can find many different video games and find the ones they like.
